How
to use Webmail.
Logging
into and using Webmail
With
MEWebmail, you can log in from anywhere in the world
through a web browser such as internet explorer or
firefox. Not only can you send and receive emails,
control spam, set auto-responders and mailbox redirections,
you also have access to a calendar, appointments and
task lists. Using Webmail is easy, but here's some
help in setting up.
To
Log In
Go
to webmail.yourdomain.com.au instead of www.yourdomain.com.au
(where yourdomain.com.au is your actual domain name).
So, if your domain name is, for example, www.hello.com.au,
you would type into a browser address bar webmail.hello.com.au
and then hit Enter. You will be taken to the webmail
page on your domain, where you can login by entering
your full email address (for example fred@hello.com.au)
and your password.
Recommended
First Steps
It
is highly recommended once logged in to click on the
Options button down the left hand side. You can set
your major preferences, change your password, and
so on. You should set your time zone to GMT+10 Brisbane.
If you want to send html messages (highly recommended)
you will need to change 'Compose my messages in following
format:' from Text to HTML (Light). The recommended
Character Set is UTF-8.
Spam
Control
It
is recommended to start off with fairly light spam
control. Under Options -> Spam Rules, check the
box 'Enable Mailbox Spam Filtering' and change High
Risk Spam Messages to Delete Messages. If you are
still receiving too much spam (for example, more than
40 spam messages per day), then you can change Moderate
Risk Spam Messages to Move to junk mail folder. Please
use spam control at your own risk, as legitimate messages
may be marked as spam.
