FYI,
sometimes it makes sense to DIY.
If you have a requirement to change content on your
website on a regular basis, a Content Management System
may be right for you. A CMS allows you to log in to
your website with a username and password, in order
to (depending on the CMS):
- Update
content on existing pages (change text and graphics)
- Create
new pages (including Sandbox testing)
- Distribute
edited pages to your in-house team for proofing
and collaboration
- Modify
the navigation of the website
- Create
links, pages, documents, newsletters & wikis,
and
- Redesign
certain elements (including colour schemes) of your
website
A
CMS can save you a small fortune per year if you are
paying a developer to make all the minor alterations
that occur from time to time. Plus, if you suddenly
come up with an idea for your website that can't wait,
no matter the time of day or night, you can log in
and start working on it there and then. It is as easy
as using a word processor (such as Word) and full
training is provided.
CMS's
are not for everybody, but it's worth investigating
if you think you will be making regular changes. Contact
us today to discuss your needs with an experienced
staff member.
